Kim Shine, M.Ed.
Kim started off her career in education by gaining experience as a teacher at Southeast Elementary School for both 3rd and 4th grades. After working out of a classroom for some time, she transitioned to become Gifted Facilitator for Elementary School District #124 in 2002. Early on, Kim facilitated the Model Classroom Project, which served as a way of systematically reviewing and improving teaching processes and strategies. She reimagined the Project T.R.E.E. program, and has been sharing her passion for learning with gifted children ever since. Amanda Ewert
Amanda began her career in education teaching in a 2nd grade classroom in Country Club Hills. While there, she and a colleague were able to introduce gifted programming to the district by utilizing Jr. Great Books. Soon after, Amanda began working in Evergreen Park for Elementary School District #124 where she served numerous grade levels as a long-term substitute teacher in both traditional and special education classrooms. She became a part of the Project T.R.E.E. team while filling in during a leave of absence, and has been helping kids in the program since 2004. Louise Baldwin
Louise taught in the Chicago Public Schools for nine years. She taught first, second, and third grade, and led her school's reading initiative to improve the children's reading comprehension. She earned her Masters in Multi-categorical Special Education after which she worked in Evergreen Park District #124. Louise piloted the multi-age program and taught it for two years. During this time she effectively differentiated the curriculum according to the abilities of the children in the classroom. Currently Louise is excited to be a part of our district's technology initiative. She is experienced with combining technology into instruction. Julia Kelly
Julia has taught in Evergreen Park Elementary District 124 for 10 years. She has taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade Literature and Language Arts. During her time at Central, she has been an advisor for S.A.D.D. (Students Against Destructive Decisions), Friends of Rachel, Book Club, and Newspaper. She is passionate about getting middle school students active and involved in extracurricular activities. Julia is very excited to begin working with Project T.R.E.E. this year. She earned a Bachelors in English Literature from the University of Kansas and a Masters in Education from Loyola University.
